It is about 37" tall and the beards are white.

The white beards suggest it is a relatively new cultivar, I think. Where did you get it from?

evelyn, you didn't by chance get it from me? i gave a lot of 'margaret helen' away; some years it blooms with horns, other years there's no trace of them....?

I don't have a clue. I thought Tom sent it, but he says he didn't send that one.

The very closest I have observed is Victoria Falls, though most pictures show it being more blue violet than violet.



What do you think? In the database it is listed as being blue.

I don't think your NOID is Victoria Falls because the beard is different and VF really is blue.
Also I think it has better form than the one you pictured, although that might just be the photo.

It was labeled as Chestnuts Roasting, so that is why I thought Tom sent it.

That smaller iris in the same bed that looks like a "mini Chestnuts Roasting", may actually be CR.

I am confusing myself as I write this...as I still thought the taller one was the one labeled CR.

Is it blooming now, or was this the spring bloom?
