Thread OP

My backyard doesn't have grass (last occupants had chickens and they picked it clean) so I'm looking for any extra grass clippings people might have. I'd like to use them for composting. I'd be willing to pick up from Portland area, I'm in SE and I work in N. Thanks.

Hi enbyplant, Welcome!

You might want to let folks know whether you are in Portland, Maine or Portland, Oregon. Smiling

enbyplant,
Why not plant rye grass and grow your own? I go around my neighborhood and pick up grass clippings, leaves and pine straw that is bagged and set out by the road. You can learn pretty quickly where these bags are set out fairly regularly, so I run a weekend route based on the lawn waste pickup schedule. This might not work too well if you have separate trash bins for lawn wastes.
