I've seen Valkaria Gardens a few times as we've driven down Babcock Street on our way home from Melbourne/Palm Bay area and I've always wanted to stop but they've always been closed when we've passed by! I don't drive much anymore but might have to get my husband to take me up there one of these days soon! Green Grin!

Next week will be grand. Beautiful weather for just spending time there. It's incredible how his nursery is really a forest of fully mature specimens I've only seen in pots sometimes. And his plants for sale are packed all along the wall ways. And hanging from branches. So very relaxing!

Valkeria is a WOW, I have put their address on my list, just in case I ever get that way. Another interesting one worth a trip is Excelsa Gardens in Loxahatchee.

All the really beautiful nurseries seem to be south of me. I have a wish list of places south I want to go. Just added one more. Someone told me that the fruit and spice park in homestead has events all the time. Might make the trip and stop here on the way next time I've saved some hobby money...I've tapped out as of yesterday lol

Ecuagenera has just opened a place in Apopka. They say orchids and other tropicals. No website that I could find but they are on Facebook. Like them there to keep up with specials, etc.

Yes, do so and come right back and tell us how it is. Have you ever been to the EFG Orchids in Deland? They are the southern division of Hausermann's. I have ordered from them but never stopped there. They occasionally have tropicals on their website.

I'm going Tuesday with my aroid friend of many years!!! We are driving down together. He is pretty expert in the South American species of several genera. I am excited! I spoke to the nursery and they will have a new shipment of stuff from Miami that day too!!!!

Just put Ecuagenera USA in the FB search bar onthe top. There are dozens of growers in Apopka and the surrounding towns and many of them are open to the public. I wonder how one could get a list of all of them. Thinking

They also have a website: www.ecuagenera.com
I believe the website is more for their international business. The FB page is for Ecuagenera, USA

Yeah its always eye candy to look at their site that is in Ecuador. They will bring plants to the USA with them to the shows that they attend (they do aroid and orchid shows) and if you order in time they will bring your plants and you can pick them up. It saves international shipping and the purchase price of a phytosanitary certificate. But you have to take what they bring, and if it gets carted around to a few shows before you get hold o fit it might be worse for wear and tear.

This will be so much nicer to actually be able to see an actual plant and consider it for purchase. I just hope they don't jack up their US prices. Their Ecuadorian website prices are damn reasonable for some of their stuff. Hope they stay that way here
