I was out doing my routine pest control today and what did I spy with my little eye than this!
That bulge is an imminent bloom on my Heliconia stricta Huber cv. Oliveira's Sharonii!! Their peak bloom time is about now and December.

I just wanted to share my Heliconia Stricta Sharonii with you! I'm obsessed with the leave colors, but the the flowers.... to die for.

Hello......, that is a lovely one. I've never seen it before, but will be on the lookout now.

There are two Heliconia sharonii's. These are both 'Olviera's sharonii'. The other form, 'Carli's sharonii', is much less commonly available.

You lucky, lucky Floridians. Although the hurricane thing is a definite drawback!
