Thread OP

A mystery vine showed up in my butterfly garden. I'm in Jacksonville. Can anyone ID it for me? Tell me how to get rid of it?

Thanks a lot.

Reminds me of juvenile leaves of Passiflora. I think both of those below are found here in Florida:
Maypop (Passiflora incarnata)
Passion Flower (Passiflora edulis)

Take a look at these leaf photos of P. eudlis on this page for comparison: https://www.botany.one/2019/04...

WOW! After looking at those photos I think you're right. I had Passiflora-incarnata planted in 2 large pots in the butterfly garden a few years ago but they died. I kept them in pots because I know how they can spread. I guess they escaped and have just been lurking in the soil waiting a chance to bust out. Oh well, I suppose now I'll have to keep them cut back. Maybe the caterpillars will help me with that. I guess I'll have even more zebra longwings and gulf fritillarys now. Thanks a lot plantladylin. You really know your stuff. BTW the site made me remove the hyperlinks before I could post a reply.
