Here you go Sandi and all the rest that are interested in participating.

From Kevin Vaughn
Yes I still plan to do the hybridizer's workshop. Part 1 will be on rowing out seedlings and selecting the best from the seedling crop. I will use the judging material that we used at the Crane Planting to evaluate new seedlings. It was developed by several of the breeders in MA, although Helen had other criteria that she used to determine "would it sell?". Those are important too and I'll go over her comments too.
If we do an afternoon session we can go to Robert's Crossing or Amadeus for an early dinner or lunch; they are just 1 and 3 miles away. Both are WONDERFUL.

This will be a two part series of Clinics. One in the spring and the other in the summer when the semps start blooming.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Lynn,

Let me know when as plans firm up for this clinic. I had the wrong email address attached to All Things plants, and didn't realize it until today. I wondered why I hadn't received any newsletters for so long... time to get back in the loop. Rolling my eyes.

Hurray! Diana how wonderful to see you here. Sure have missed you. Group hug
Glad you got the email thing straightened out.

I'll post in this thread a date for the clinic, as soon as we know how Kevin's eye surgery goes.

News update on the clinic. Looks like it is going to be the end of April or first part of May. Much better weather by then. Nice color in the semps seedlings by then also. Hurray!

We will nail down a specific date when we get closer and see what the weather patterns are going to be like.
We want to be able to be outside in comfort, not drowning in the rain.

Hurray! Hurray! Update from Kevin on the Clinic.

For the class, why don't we try for April 25 or 26 or May 1 or 2? I could do Saturday or Sunday of those weeks too. That way the weather is a bit warmer and the plants are still in their prime. NO CHARGE FOR CLINIC, my pleasure to do this! Do you want to do a straw poll and then we pick the date??

Robert's Crossing is a very nice but casual restaurant just up the street and if we had an afternoon class we could have an early dinner (they open at 4PM) after the class and have a chance to visit. If we went early we could surely all be accommodated together. If we do it on Saturday I would probably need to make reservations.

Hurray! Hurray!
Now to nail down a date.

I vote for a Saturday on either weekend. How do the rest of your feel about Saturday?
I also vote for the early dinner. Again how do the rest of your feel about that?

Okay, so far it looks like April 27th would work? The restuarant for early dinner afterwards?
Who needs a place to stay over night? I have 2 spare bedrooms and a couch in the living room. Smiling

We'll wait to hear from the others before finalizing.

I see you spring.

It is so generous of Kevin to do this clinic free to all of us semp lovers. I think he is hoping he will get a new generation of sempervivum hybridizers started. Thumbs up
