I was up on the ladder hanging fans, This croton looked too good to be true, this was a trade plant years ago, I know @ScotTi ID'd it for me but I forgot.

When I had a plant trade at my greenhouse in,I guess about 1997? Maybe the last trade I hosted, This was an extremely popular croton.

One of my favorite yellows was Croton (Codiaeum variegatum 'Aureo Maculatum') that we had at our house back in Daytona Beach ... I took cuttings and rooted them but the pots were sitting on the side of the house with a few other plants that we forgot.

I have to prune these on a regular basis or this plant just takes over me 'rainforest' canopy. I put the pruning outside to root, Some ave down quite well

I use the 'Eleanor Roosevelt' name, but it is also known as 'Sloppy Painter'.

I have pruned this one and some others I have in the GH many times when they grow out of their space limits. The cuttings are easy to root. I have some growing outside. They would certainly be damaged if we had a hard freeze of any intensity but I can cover them up if that happens so they won't be killed. I had crotons in the yard at our old house in town that defoliated in temps under about 28F but always came back.
