The best book I have ever read on growing plants in containers is "Don't Repot That Plant!" by Will Creed! Super Book for anyone that likes growing house plants and office plants, It covers everything you need to know and will save you money from making costly mistakes. I use his book as a reference for all the most popular plants on the market. SUPER BOOK for anyone.
