Gina1960 ~ I was going to say naked dancing too, but I thought that may be a little too risqué and get me banned from posting stuff on Garden.org, or a reprimand from one of the moderators or administrators, but even in Winter, especially with a large bonfire and plenty of mead, it would be very appropriate. The first thing we (they) learned back in the 1960s was that you needed to "ditch the threads" before you could really be uncivilized. That's the first thing your mom teaches you : to put on your clothes. The 2nd thing : to keep them on. ☺

So you live in a sub-tropical climate and have to wait until Spring for naked dancing? Here in Portland, Oregon we have an annual naked bike ride through downtown Portland when it's quite chilly out (search for it on YouTube), we have legal "clothes optional" beaches, AND one or two of the oldest "nudist colonies" in the country, and throughout the entire state, a person can be naked in public (with certain restrictions) ☺ Pagans forever ☆

Oregon has always been a lot more progressive than Florida IMO. Besides, here the mosquitoes almost never go away so you are taking your chances ha ha

I found a little "secret" remedy against mosquitoes that works pretty well : lemon balm (Melissa officinalis, family Labiatae). Crush the leaves in your hands and smear the pulp all over your body, and they pretty much leave you alone. They don't like the scent of citronella, a natural insect repellant, which is in pretty high concentration in the leaves. Once established, lemon balm will become naturalized and increase abundantly, almost to the point of being invasive, but it's such a useful plant, and heavily visited by bees, butterflies, and other flying insects, that it's a welcome plant here along rock walls and other marginal areas where little else would grow.
