When I received a 'Heavenly Hash' Daylily as the "bonus" plant to an order last spring I was very surprised. The catalog had a glowing description of it and the cost clearly put it in the upper levels of their pricing structure. I only now understand why I received one... it was being dropped from their catalog.
Their loss is my gain... this is a beautiful flower. Its very pale cream coloration and its generous size [5 inch blooms] make it a soft, pastel stand-out in the front of the border. And the combination of it and 'Powis Castle' Artemisia is very pleasing.
The combination is a very effective base for the large clump of 'Black and Blue' Salvia in the center of the bed. There is no competition for center stage here... just the best form of cooperation.
