Happy New Year! I saw Debra ordered from Sutton's; anyone else start ordering?

I planned to order 'Scottish Reel' last year, but the three vendors I knew carrying it were out of stock. I was ecstatic to find a few vendors carrying it this year, so I placed an order. After all your glowing recommendations for Iris Sisters, I decided to order from them for the first time.

I know it will arrive true to name from Iris Sisters! Hurray!

Along for the ride:

Fell in love with 'Arthouse' when I saw it in bloom in Tom's garden. This is a replacement.

I went a little nuts a month ago or so. I guess it is time to confess.
My Irisesgarden order. I was very happy with the irises I got from them last year. I have payed much, much more and received far smaller rhizomes from other vendors.
Irisesgarden being located in Slovenia there are a fair amount Eastern European irises in my order, together with some American irises that have been on my wish list a while.
Also of course a few irises I had no idea that I wanted, but when I saw their pic, I just had to have them: *Blush*

I also made an order with https://daylily-phlox.eu. I was very pleased with the quality and size of the irises and daylilies I bought from them last year.
As daylilies most often bloom the same year you plant them, and all of the ones I got did, I could also verify that they sent correctly identified plants.
Highly recommended for those of us that live in Europe. Smiling

Siberians:

'Hohe Warte' is very tall at 59inches (150 cm)!

Then the rest of the irises. I will have to link to the vendors website for some of these;

Iris lactea is supposedly valuable for the foliage. Better pics of clumps and foliage here: https://daylily-phlox.eu/beard...

'Lavender Landscape' https://daylily-phlox.eu/beard... has no database picture.
It is a so called sibtosa hybride that grows to the same height as 'Hohe Warte'.
According to the hybridizer Tomas Tamberg, it can have up to 7 flowers on a stem. So it will with time hopefully be a giant in the garden. Hurray!

Butterfly funtain is also ha sibtosa hybrid, up to 9 buds. Fell in love with the clump shots. So elegant and classy: https://daylily-phlox.eu/beard...

Iris x (cal-sib) 'Dark Emperor' also has no image in the database, but is so pretty, so it is worth having a look at the vendors website. https://daylily-phlox.eu/beard...
It is a Pacific Coast Iris (Californicae) x unknown sino-sibirica and it looks to be a real beauty. Lovey dubby

In the other tread I promised to only make two bearded iris orders this year, but this on does not count as there are no bearded irises. Hilarious!
So I still have one order left to make. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Lastly I'm going a bit off topic and list the daylilies I also bought:

Scott ~ Nice order!

William ~ What a haul! Leopard Print is a pretty little one. The only one I have of all those is Temporal Anomaly and it hasn't yet bloomed. You are going to have a lot of planting to do. What a lovely garden it will be!

DAZZLE (also struggling...need another)
JAZZ CLUB new
SPLURGE new
FRENCH LILAC ( not sure I still have it. When the rain lets up, I'll be taking inventory)

Some nice orders, you guys have the bug pretty bad, but William you take the early bird Metal for bringing in the largest early order so far! Smiling Last year I kept pretty firm about not ordering any, that is until Mid-America had that sale, and then I lost control. This year I'm not even going to pretend I can resist, so I plan on a couple orders to fill spots that I will be making by culling. Rolling my eyes.

You will get nice stock from Sister's Irises, and lots of bonuses too.

Tom, every year I try to completely ignore the possibility of importing irises from Mid-America. Even without a sale I think I would loose control. *Blush*

Daphne, those irises are so lovely and as one is replacement, I don't think it even counts.

Jan, wonderful order. For me that likes a bit of color Bottle Rocket is one of the most beautiful irises I have ever had in my garden.
I had to replace mine to see it bloom. Rarely do I replace irises, I just move on to another that might work better, because in reality I have to accept that not all irises will work in my climate, but I'm so glad I tried Bottle Rocket a second time. Now I just hope that it will do as well outside as it did in the greenhouse last winter.

Scott: Robin Shadlow, aka Iris Sisters, rocks. You will also get some really nice bonuses btw. Nice order. Timely Kiss is just outstanding in person.

William: I love your haul of dwarfs. There are so many imaginative ones being produced in Eastern Europe right now. Wish they would get more of them over here!

Daphne and Jan - Like the iris in your order.

I can't believe I have made it to mid-January without a single order. I am sure that Mid-America will be getting business from me this year after I saw so many of theirs in person. And Keith, definitely Keith.

hello Iris fans,

First time posting in this part of the site. My previous collecting focused on peony and dahlias, we're rehabbing a long neglected large city garden and I try to add one plant investment per season and decided make Iris my Fall 2020 addition.

Somehow I've ordered 35 varieties, 80 plants from Sisters and Sutton and I seem to favor smoky lavender, gray, coffee and amber. I focused on the colors that are unique to Iris.

I won't list them all but suffice to say this is going to be a tough ordering season if I can't stop here!
and I'm sorry but I can't figure out how to post the database image...

Some that I'm looking forward to:

Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Edwardian Era')
Haunted Heart
Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Haunted Heart')
Caramel Machiatto
Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Caramel Macchiato')
Dragon's Kiss
