Gina, I will send you some of the Hawaiian Bells vine if you want it! I got the plant 5 years ago from an online nursery in a little 3 inch pot and it has really taken off! When we lived in Daytona, if we were predicted to have a winter frost or freeze, I'd move it to a screened porch but when we moved here in May 2016, I sat it by the pine tree where it's remained and it always blooms in December and January. I hoped that it would climb the pine tree but it just seemed to trail out of the pot and all over the ground, through the weeds.
The Monstera adansonii was growing in that area when we moved here and it's traveled down from a maple tree, across the ground and started climbing the pine tree. A couple of months ago, I noticed that the Hawaiian Bells has started twining around and through the Monstera.
That part of our yard is so weedy, with a lot of pest plants that took over when the house sat empty for 14 months. Now that my husband is fully retired, I have a To-Do list for him and I'm hoping the cleaning of that area is one of the first things he tackles this spring!
