Well, it been another winter, its almost over if we can get through till about March 10 without an Arctic Express freeze dipping down, and the Philodendrons I am trailing outside are still going great guns....especially Jose Buono.

I have had this out actually for longer than 3 years, but for the first couple, to froze to the ground in mid 20's. It came back though, from the meristem that was still in the ground.

This is my biggest one, I have 3 planted out in zone 9A. This one is climbing a bottlebrush tree. It even has a little froggie visitor today. I would normally post this in the Philodendron/Aroid forum, but felt it would reach a wider audience here so I am interested in knowing who else in Zone 9A is growing Philodendrons (except for SELLOUM we KNOW that is hardy), Monsteras and stuff like Ravenella (Travellers Palm) outdoors year round.

Nice, I saw the green frog before you blew it up. Cute. Green Grin!

I hope we don't get a freeze, usually happens in Jan. and we're past that now. Fingers crossed. Crossing Fingers!

I have one unknown Philodendron growing up an oak tree in the yard (it was here when we bought the house 5 years ago) and it attached itself to a deck rail where it was trailing until I pulled the stem off:

I purchased this small unlabeled Philodendron from Home Depot a year or so ago and to me looks a lot like the one growing up the tree, except the leaves are shinier. Someone here on site suggested it is Philodendron 'Burle-Marx' but I have no clue. I'm thinking about planting it in the ground too:

I got 'Jose Buono' in September 2018, from a kind garden.org member. It was labeled P. 'Imbe' but I later discovered the correct name. I want to find a place in the yard to plant it but will likely wait until early March to do so since we may have a few cold nights between now and then. It's supposed to be upper 30's to low 40's here tonight. Brr. I noticed a pretty new leaf opening today.

I also have this little Philodendron 'Deja Vu' that I bought online last May and I'm thinking of planting it somewhere in the yard as well; it's been a really slow grower:

All so nice! Deja Vu looks like Xanadu in photos where it has mature leaves...I wonder if Xanadu is a parent

What a nice collection Lynn. I love the one with the shiny leaves. We never went below 50 here this morning and then it got hot, hot, hot today. I know there will be more cool mornings but the ground is heating up and I am going to gamble that we are on the upside. The TV weatherman was talking about 60 MPH winds, I did not hear the whole story so I do not know when, but that scares me more than a freeze.

Its Thursday. A storm is supposed to precede the next cold front. Its crazy. It will be 80 on Thursday, rain 80% chance, 38 Thursday night, 60 for the HIGH Friday. A drop of 20 degrees between the 2 days

High winds can really desiccate tender foliage, guess I'll be doing the pot plant shuffle. Anything in ground will be on its own. Sad

They say up to 87 here today, that is really high for this time of year, but we'll see, it is pretty cloudy this morning, down to 44 tomorrow night. Of course hubs invited friends over for a BBQ this afternoon, he doesn't look at the weather first. Whistling

Alice, some of our worst tornadoes in this area were cold fronts coming through, temps really hot dropping really cold fast. It is already super windy here this morning, my wind chimes are telling me it's one to pay attention to.

Early this morning it was sunny and beautiful here; now it's 75º, breezy and overcast. Our high today is supposed to be 85 or 86º and our chance of severe weather is predicted to be from midnight tonight to around 5:00 a.m. tomorrow.
