We'll be visiting an old friend in Port Charlotte this week. Are there any good garden centers/nurseries around there or in Punta Gorda that I shouldn't miss? I know about Peace River Garden and will likely stop there.

One of my fav you tube channels for Plant how to's ....propagate, growing cactus and different tropicals and making great soil mixes and plant orders. Maria covers it all. She is so kind and hilarious. She has so many beautiful plants to see and maybe take a few home with ya.

Maria's garden/nursery is in Punta Gorda . She has the most beautiful desert roses some over 6' tall.

Have a great trip..

Thanks, I will check the place out. (Don't you just love it when someone from Oregon recommends a nursery in FL. Good gardeners interests go far and wide.) I no longer grow a lot of succulents but it looks like a fun place to see. I do wonder why she says, on her website, Desert Roses cannot be grown indoors, I know a lot of people who successfully winter them inside. Maybe I will ask her.

I'm pretty sure it is one of those picnic food covers, I've seen them in the summer in stores. Hilarious!
