Although this was what the nameplate said, I think you are right, this is what not L. and O.L should be about. Actually looking at the L. and O.L. pics most are not right. I think that the typical L. and O.L. are the ones you (well, some of them, not all), Stilldew and Turine placed could be the real ones. I strongly doubt any one with the red centres is correct, neither are the harsh green ones.
Unfortunately the collection I took this picture from does no longer exist... It was an old collection with many rare forms but lacked care and maintenance. Therefore I cannot be sure of all names. Some were simply replaced by the neighbour, and many were overgrown with weeds. The garden however got 'modernized', or in plain English: completely ruined, collections (also Iris, Dahlia and Rhododendrons to name a few) lost "to attrack more people"
