...trimming back some big trees for the first time. They are all still dormant, uprooted in the garage, sleeping on a rope hammock. Do I wait til after I repot them and awaken some before cutting? Or can I trim while they are dormant?

I would want....why are you trimming? Because they are too big, or...? Its better to wait till active growth IMO because then the tree can heal the wound faster and the eyes can make new branches
