@gina1960 @dutchlady1. What is that called when two plumeria branches are conjoined???

Singapore twins? Just kidding. I don;t know! (yet)

I have seen people 'braid' plumeria like they do ficus and some other things...I know from my own experience that once plumeria get really old, (and even when NOT really ole) they can put out roots along their stems that just sort of hang there. Perhaps when a branch touches another for a period of time, these 'adventitious' roots grow into the opposite stem and they meld.

DO you have a photo?? Sounds very interesting!

Do you mean two tips/branches growing from a single branch tip? I don't know that there is a term for that. I see this rarely, but always see 2 or more new tips growing adjacent to flower stems. The average for blooming tips is 3-4 new tips. At least that's my experience. That's the best way to get branching on a plumeria. Bloom it.

OH I see what you mean now! I have only had this happen to mine ONCE. It was pretty darn weird.
I think the reason mine did it was because instead of a single bloom spike, I actually had a double spike develop out of the same apical tip. And when the blooms fell off and the plant branched, it was double headed

Got it, Gina. I can't remember anything at about why mine have done this. I've grown plumeria for 25 yr., and I've simply had this happen very few times. I can't tell you the last time I saw this happen, but I don't think it's happened since I've lived in Vero Beach. I'm probably not tuned-in to "weird" growths though.
