I found this hidden among my crinum - I don't remember it being there🤔
It has wavy petals.
Can someone identify it?

Here's one in another bed that I thought looked alike:

Can you also identify this one?

Similar coloring to Minerva but the shape of the bloom/ petals looks different to me. Compare to :
.
Although, your's has a lot more white than most pics in the database so I'm probably completely wrong, haha.
Sure wish I could grow them as perennials !

Minerva has a thin white edge, so I don't think that your bulb is Minerva. The shape of the bloom is similar to that of H. johnsonii which has the red eye. So if the blooms in the top photo have a red eye, it could be johnsonii. emaryllis.com states that there are many variants of H. johnsonii being grown now., some have more white striping, some have almost no white striping. It is the earliest hybrid hippeasturm from 1799, very hardy outdoors, and considered to be a pass along variety. Which could explain why the bulb was in the middle of your cranium lily: It happened to come with it.

I do have Minerva but it hasn't bloom this year. This was from 2017.

BB Code:

Here's my St Joseph:

It is a St. Jo?

Here's another clump up front and needs identifying:

Here's an off the wall possibility. Check out Gilmar in the data base. I got one of those several years ago, at Lowes, as a substitution for Minerva. I have to question whether or not your 2017 Minerva is a correct ID: It doesn't have the "star" appearance or the white edge that you expect in Minerva. There are several small-medium flowered ones that have the word "star" in them. If the size of your blooms are on the smaller size, It could be anyone of those. A few of the pass-alongs cultivars have local names that aren't even registered. Wish that I could be of more help.

Betsy, another tough one to ID. Hard to tell from the photo about the color: Is this one more red or more of a coral? This could be Minerva, it has the hint of white on the edge on some of the petals, and a pale red eye, dots way down in the throat. I always think of Minerva as being much showier than yours. However, if you go to the database, there are 60 photographs of Minerva. There is so much variation in the blooms, that either, there are photos of lots of stuff which isn't Minerva, or Minerva is such an old cultivar that there are many strains of it being sold. Minerva is normally a fairly safe bet for this type of bloom, since it is the usual boxed red and white Xmas bulb sold in the USA.
