Thread OP
SW Georgia (Zone 9b)
I hope everyone is staying safe in this uncertain time. Here in South Georgia its been 55+ at night so I've moved my 2 plants outside about 3 weeks ago. They were starting to sprout leaves just prior to moving them outside. They got a good watering prior to moving them outside and MAYBE once or twice since then. Since they were placed outside the leaves have stopped growing. That doesn't surprise me since they now getting a solid 6-8 hours of direct sunlight. It's a pretty big change from my sun room where they may get 3-5 hours.

Unfortunately, this area is still getting a fairly regular rain, typically at least once a week though its not a lot of rain. As you can see in the photo today's rain was just a light drizzle. If we get a lot, I bring them inside. They are ALWAYS covered in dew first thing in the morning. I've checked the substrate to ensure that they aren't staying wet. The substrate drains REALLY, REALLY well. The top inch or tow is almost always dry. The bottom of the substrate might be damp but it's out of root range at the moment. I'm getting curled leaves on one of the plants? I'm wondering if maybe they aren't getting watered enough? The caudex is nice and firm not wrinkly or anything like that. Noting appears soft, discolored or anything like that.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Ben

adenium take forever to adjust to changes ...inside to outside is a change

if it stays at or above 50° ...leave outside ...

if in the "fractional amounts of rain" ...I wouldn't be too concerned .... if in the "inches of rain" amounts, consider that a watering day ..... if it pours for a week straight, with amounts in the "feet of rain" ...then I might bring my plants inside

in the summer - water adeniums like a tropical plant

in the winter - water adeniums like a cactus

Just give it time, it should adjust eventually as light levels continue to extend longer and temps go warmer. It is good your media is very well draining. Thumbs up

One of my Adeniums is awake indoors too, but I am delaying its outdoor exposure since our overnights still unstable...pretty much I may have to wait till April. The other one I have continues to be in dormant mode...always different wake up times for these two...so I rather delay on the side of caution bringing them out till temps are more stable.
