Thread OP

Hi there,
I got this guy from a home and garden store and about 3 months in it started looking like something was eating the stems. All the leaves fell off I believe August through November. Since then it's regrown leaves and is now trying to bud.
Today I found one large branch had gone soft and was fall off. After trimming it as close to the base as possible it wasa little mushy still with brown liquid. I read to put cinnamon it when you cut off a portion so I've done that. I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to help it at this point...any advice?
BTW location is Florida

so what that i -, is stem rot ... this type of rot is caused by over watering ....

so i have to ask ... is all the mushy, brown stuff gone ?

if so ...I would guess your adenium will survive ....give it about 10 to 14 days before doing anything else including watering

personly ...if it were my plant, I would have cut both branches off at the base - or caudex, just to encourage the plant to branch out

Yes, I took off the mushy branch. I have a lot of Christmas and Easter cacti and a habit of over pruning/plucking so Ive held back on this guy since it's my first adenium.
I've been light on watering since it started, just didn't want to do anything drastic in case I had the wrong problem. Wasn't sure how much could come off at once either.
Thanks!
