I though that amaryllis bulbs cannot be forced to bloom, so I did a small test. I have them in several pots for few years, during that time they have boom grown and gave a lot of babies. I decided to split all babies and plant them separately in a pot, and the big bulbs I planted in another pot. During this replant I had to cut most of the roots of each bulb. 2 pots are spited, 2 remained as is.

here one of the pots that was not splitted.
as you can see central bulb has no bud, and will not bloom, although last year it bloomed

here are all the small bulbs

and 2 big bulbs (about 7 cm in diameter) that were separated, as you can see each one starting a bud

So if you want your bulbs to bloom each year, separate them

Thanks for sharing.. your plants looks so super healthy. What is your potting mix and how often do you water... mine are NOT doing well.. they grow in water but not in soil.

@Desertlady

Regular potting mix from nursery, based on coconuts ( I think). I water very minimal, bulbs rotten if ground is over-watered. Also all the excess water from the plate 1h after watering should be removed.
