I moved last year from zone 10b to 9B. We transplanted a fig tree to 9b. I can't believe the difference as to how quickly I am getting little figs already. In 10b we got figs (and very few) much later. We moved the tree for sentimental reasons.
Last year in moving to 9b we planted a peach tree and a lemon tree. I never had much luck in 10b with fruit trees. But since planting in 9b these 2 young trees have so many leaves and the peach tree has about 10 small fruit and the lemon tree has so many blooms on it. I guess it's the extra heat here. I also planted tree roses last fall and they weren't doing so good. Something was chewing on them??? I don't know. But I trimmed them all down pretty good and now they are fully loaded with healthy leaves and buds! Maybe the extra rain we keep getting and the sun. But my finger is turning green!
