Thread OP

Feeling blessed to have a cherry Tomato doing well, and has inspired us to start vegetable gardening. I've had the pleasure of watching it grow from just a little sprout, and now it is over six feet tall. The tomatoes are delicious. We are manually pulling worms off every day and feeding them to the chickens, and using a mixture of Murphy's Oil Soap, vegetable oil, and water to lightly mist it for bugs, and providing LOTS of water in the morning.

That cherry tomato wouldn't be a Yellow Pear Shaped Tomato would it? Love those little delights, but then I love all tomatoes. I've grown the YPST a couple of times and they perform well here in central FL.

In the edible department I have other tomatoes growing and dill and potatoes. Nothing blooming around here but flowers. We've been in a drought for quite some time now and it is only the drought tolerant flowers that are blooming.

I'm praying for rain, praying for the victims of the Pandemic, praying for relief and did I say I'm praying for RAIN!! Smiling

My fragrant Viburnum was wafting perfume while I was weeding in the front yard, encouraging me not to quit yet, also white with pink centers and yellow with red centers, white with yellow centers daffodils nodding their heads in the breeze. The crocuses are gone, the snowdrops have disappeared. My pinkish red Azaleas are starting to open. The rose bushes have fresh opening leaves---irises are sprouting leaves----and Hairy bittercress are standing tall again, where I thought I had pulled them all out, as if they were telling me ''haha, we are still here!" I also see buttercups growing, dandelions, and I pulled them all out with my magic tool, with all the roots---oh, what a nice feeling of satisfaction! Hosta are popping out the ground, more than last year. And Mertensia nodding their blue heads. They are so pretty. I saw only 1 forget-me-not, I hope there are some more, the ground there is overgrown with clover that I did not have last year. Who planted them there? Not me! I have pulled all the sticky Cleavers out, I think, also cut off the volunteer very sharp leaved holly that somehow is growing under my pink azalea bush--- Planted one rose bush, and have to plant 2 more bushes, hopefully before the week ends. Grateful that it rained last night to keep the soil soft for weeding and digging-- in the mean time, I remember to keep my distance from other people, and praying for the experts to be able to control Coronavirus like Cholera, Thyphoid, and Malaria. Grateful that Spring is still beautiful----
