Thread OP
Helena, Montana
I have gardened in Helena for the last 5 years and typically purchase starts from greenhouses in May. Can you tell me if the greenhouses in Helena are considered essential and will we be able to buy starts from them?
I have planted seeds in the past in other locations, but the house we are renting does not allow for that type of space based on the amount of plants that I typically grow.
Thanks,
Alexis

Welcome!

Call the nursery and ask if they are open. Nurseries in Nevada are open and considered essential as they are selling vegetable starts and garden supplies. The bigger problem might be how much they will have available as someone somewhere has to grow the the plants. Our garden centers are pretty empty of people and plants. If the garden center is open, ask when the plants will be in and be first in line. Or ask them to hold plants for you - this especially works well if you order and pay over the phone.
