This year was orange year for me, I realized I didn't have hardly any - actually, I only had one - Primal Scream. It was my first "expensive" daylily. What is interesting is that up until that point, I only bought red ones, yet I spent what I considered (at that time) a LOT of money on Primal Scream. This flower deserves all the accolades it gets, although I was hoping for more increase this year, the drought probably affected it.
So I have been acquiring some oranges over the past 12 months
Fire King - awesome flower, long bloomer.
Sparkling Orange, although it looks more of a light orange to me, not as yellow as it looks in this photo
And one of my favorite purchases from this year, Indian Ripple. I can't say enough good things about it. Here it is on it's original bloom on 7/5 - and it has been reblooming for about 3 weeks now, with still more buds to open. This flower truly 'glows'
And this is a diploid (historic? bee cross?) orange NOID growing 'wild' from our family cottage in western PA. Sorry the photo is a bit blurry. I am hoping I brought a piece of this one back with me.
And of course, I have tried to acquire some more oranges this year.
