Thread OP

Hello, I've got two Adeniums that I recently purchased and their leaves are starting to turn yellow with spots and then fall off. Any ideas? Are they just stressed from replanting? I live in Phoenix so they get lots of sun and they are planted in cactus mix in clay pots so they are not sitting in wet soil. I've attached a pic of the damaged leaves. Thank you!

Leaves turning yellow can mean several things -

Last years leaves often turn yellow before they fall off

- Other Causes -

The first - not enough water ....
water more often - more thoroughly

another yellowing cause is called : Chlorosis
yellowing leaves can sometimes be an iron deficiency ...(often you will see green streaking along the leaf veins)
find a fertilizer that includes Iron and all the other micro or trace nutrients - like Miracle-Grow All Purpose

other yellowing causes:
poor drainage
damaged and/or compacted roots
high alkalinity

your soil looks too dense to me ...not chunky enough to allow for free flowing water

add perlite, bark, large grain sand, pebbles & more rocks to increase chunkiness

one other thing I see, is the pot saucers .... never allow adeniums to sit in saucers of water ...store the saucers for indoor use ....you do not need them outdoors

Were They in full sun where you bought them? If not, you should have acclimated them slowly. The only other thing that comes to mind is over watering or over feeding.

Thank you! I'll ditch the saucers, add some perlite and rocks and see how it goes.
