I am smitten. And unfortunately I didn't keep a record of these tulips, which were likely an impulse buy from Lowe's. They are 9 inches or shorter, smell like a peony or a tea rose, started blooming 4/22 in northern Indiana about a week after Exotic Emperor (which are listed as early), very sturdy stems, and a color that is a blend of lavender and mauve, but it's the kind of color that shimmers and changes in different lights. I hope someone can help me figure this one out as I will order a lot more next year. No luck poking around on the database for 40 minutes or so.

At first glance they look like pink star but I don't see any yellow tones , are they pure pink?

I am sorry for missing your question! They have no yellow tones, and are more on the lavender side of pink--not a pure, clear pink. Here they are next to Blue Parrot for comparison, both in the garden and in a bouquet. They are so pretty, and as you can see, still going strong neck-and-neck with the late Parrots. (I looked up Pink Star, and now I am obsessed with those as well, so thanks for the hot tip! :)

Aw man, at first I was getting excited from the Van Engelen description, but it is too tall (the mystery tulips are less than a foot high) and too dark. I keep hoping I will find the packaging at some point as I clean up all the gardening stuff in the garage. Dang it.

French Peasant, I hope you find it as I would be interested in purchasing as well knowing it is fragrant! Good luck. I will probably order Margarita just to try it. Although Van Engelens only has large orders, their sister company allows smaller orders and has the same inventory variety--John Scheepers.

I've been looking around and still haven't identified it, alas. I'm still looking! Maybe I should start stalking the bulb suppliers to Lowes.

I have a large order in with VE in mostly the apricot-soft pink range (my 14 year old daughter started a neighborhood flower business this past spring while under Covid lockdown), but my trick is to pore over and mark up the Scheepers catalogue for the pretty pictures and then submit my bulk order through VE.
