Beautiful garden. Love seeing it as your growing conditions are similar to my woodland garden. Like your use of Japanese Maples. This year we have included a couple more hydrangea.

Wow very nice combo shade plantings . Hurray!

I have the mini lace leaf maple tri color just like the one in your pic. And many similar hostas ..the deer ummm... ate them ....

Your maple trees are beautiful and a well maintained garden with loads of gorgeous healthy plants . The artful way you have added texture, color, height, space and diversity with shade plants and other elements added in the garden demonstrates the design blended with beautiful old growth redwoods , looks and feels of an enchanted forest . I tip my hat to you.

Adding hydrangeas will add some clever diversity in color and texture. Many bi-color leaves too. They are a fav of mine here in the NW they are almost a must in gardens.
I’m so busy... “I don’t know if I found a rope or lost a horse.”

Magnificent! Love the rocks too. What is the variegated plant in pic 2 with the very large leaves?

Thank you! I absolutely love those leaves! I put a note on my calendar to contact you about this in January.

I will definitely contact you next year about this. I have thousands of native Podophyllum here in my woods, but am slowly introducing some more exotic ones, that I used to grow years ago when gardening in other places like North Carolina and Washington state. My mom passed away in January, she was Dorothy from Kansas, but everyone called her Dottie. I have been in my home here for 10 years, but planning and planting a memorial garden for her this year has kicked my garden instinct into high gear. This would be a perfect plant to include on the shady slope I am planting in her memory. I saw your more recent garden post from this year, and it's fascinating to see the progression just in a year. You have a lovely spot, and have done magical things with your garden. I'm on the east coast now so no redwoods here, but I have a fondness for gardening in forests. I'll keep checking the forums for more photos and updates on your garden. Thanks for sharing!
