This lily looks more like an oriental lily than Asiatic lily Mapira. The foliage is too wide and the petals look quite ruffled unlike Mapira.

Hi Connie, sorry, I only just found this thread.

To the best of my knowledge, I believe it really was 'Mapira'. I only had it a couple of years - didn't do well for me and I wasn't impressed with it.

The ruffling on the flower pictured wasn't typical. It was the first bloom out, so I photographed it, but the rest of the blooms were smoother. Absolutely no fragrance and both foliage and bulb were typical of an asiatic. I'm confident that it wasn't an oriental, nor even an OA. The source was reputable (not that that always stands for anything, as mislabeling can often be traced back to the prior source or beyond), and I can't think of another asiatic available here at the time that it might have been mislabeled for.

'Black Charm' is a better cultivar in this colour range, but at the time I bought 'Mapira' it hadn't been released here.

I also had Mapira for a while and this looks consistent with it.

Another member brought it up. Do you want it moved back to Mapira?

Yes, I'm sure that is where it belongs. Thank you. Smiling
