I found a tag in my garden today saying the iris next to it was "Jezebel". The plant looks healthy enough, but no flower yet. I tried to find a photo of it and although it is listed in the database, there is no identifying info except to say it was hybridized in 1945. Have checked the historic iris database as well with no success.

There's no photo of it in Iris Wiki either.

I know. I have looked everywhere I can think of and even though I find it listed, no photo. I'm stumped! I have this metal tag which I made naming it but no plant attached. I do have some unidentified irises that I had photographed previously. I was hoping it was one of them!

you say you have no flower yet. When it comes, take 30+ pictures of it from every angle and up close (all of the parts). Until then, how high is it? PBF? Measure the flower size. Note form. What part of the season is it blooming. If more than one stalk, get all of this data for both.

These data points will help narrow the field as to if it is indeed Jezebel.

Alas@Misawa77 I don't know if I have it in the garden or not. In cleaning a box with tagging materials in it, I found a metal tag embossed with the name "Jezebel" attached to a stake. So, it seems I had it at one point but it either got separated from the plant or the plant died out. I have a lot of unidentified photos of varieties that were once in my garden that I had photographed but didn't name at the time. I was hoping one of these was the elusive "Jezebel" but without a photo to compare it's a mystery!
