I waited and waited to put my coleus out. Rosy Dawn sent some lovely specimens much too early. I had them in the house for about a month, afraid to put them out.
I planted them this past weekend and now I hear on the evening news that we are going to have 37 degree temps this Saturday. My parents used to (50 years ago)
buy little paper helmets that they put on plants that were put out too early in the Spring. I would go to a garden store to see if I could get some of those, but here in New York, I'm not sure that any are open.
Does anyone have ideas for makeshift protection for delicate plants that have been put out too (gulp) early?
