I thought I would look at some tropical plants that might do
well here in Hot and Humid Houston, TX I do pretty much all
of my plants in containers because we are renting our house.

So I am looking at plants that stay smaller and can be in a pot
for longer periods of time. It would be nice to get blooming plants
and as I would have them in pots I can manage some inside for the
Winter months.

The dwarf cannas are bright and showy and they would winter outside in Houston. I have kept them in pots forever and they do fine with an occasional repotting.
