I'm going to plant a few tomatoes and beans, things that squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, birds, and insects LOVE.
It there any way of protecting them from these predators?

Put them in a greenhouse. That's best.

Rodents? Chicken wire would do the trick. Or trap and kill or remove.
Birds? Some kind of netting will work.
Insects? Again, netting, but very fine. That's what insecticides are for.

Just please dear God not those sticky traps that leave an animal to starve to death. In my opinion those are as horrifying as steel leg traps.

Deer and rabbits are very partial to beans.
I have a deer fence...
Unfortunately, rabbits can be problematic to fence out... even when I add extra wire at the bottom.

I was walking around carrying a pistol... worked on a few, and the cats appreciated the fresh meat... but now?

They got smart... I don't see them... they still eat the beans and sweet potato plants...
So... a chicken egg (or two) in a watering can... beat it with a fork, add water... beat some more, sprinkle over affected plants, reapply after it rains, and after the plant adds growth... PIA!

Squirrels and chipmunks? Fairly easily trapped, cats love them too.

Insects?
Not much of a problem at my house... I do so much to encourage the songbirds, they control the bugs.

Amazing how well it works to grow mulberry, elderberry, poke berry, deer berry, black cherry, blue berry... While I would like to get some of the above fruit... I rarely do... But... lots of birds!

I have dogs that keep away most of the animals, but a good graded fence that's buried in the ground about 7-9 inches is super helpful. The rabbits will jump it, but we don't have rabbits due to the thriving hawk population. My dogs used to find the rabbits to be a lovely snack at our old house. (I know, yuck, but it's sort of what dogs do) I have never had the animals you mention do much beyond a taste to the items you intend to grow. I have had curious squirrels take a bite or two of a tomato or two, but nothing beyond that. Rabbits and Woodchucks are much more inclined to do a ton of damage. I use a Havaheart trap and you can relocate, depending on the rules and regulations of your area.

In our backyard we have a LOT of rabbits . We also have skunks racoons and small chipmunks . Somehow this year the chipmunks are not an issue but the rabbits were . A few years ago I bought an Amazon electric fence approx. 15 inches high with 4 strands . For 3 years now it has worked very well and have had no issues this year yet LOL .. We DO occasionally see some deer but luckily none that roam thru each and every day and never have they gone into the garden ( yet ) ..
