Hi,

I'm a fairly new gardener. Hoping someone can help me with deciding what to do with my garden issue.

I have several raised garden beds in my backyard. I have told my yard guy to never spray chemicals in my backyard, as I have a pet, pollinators, and my vegetable garden. He continuously asked to spray around the fence and I continuously say no and that I'm not concerned about the weeds in my backyard. The fourth time he approached me with spraying weeds in my backyard, he said he had an organic spray that he wanted to spray around the fence. I had no reason to disbelieve him so I said sure. A couple of days later I noticed he sprayed around the perimeter of my raised garden bed as the grass was dead all around the edges. He did not spray inside the beds, but directly around them. So, then it prompted me to check out the product (Natria). From what I read, 1) it's not organic, 2) it's toxic (less than roundup), but non the less still toxic. According to the instructions, you should spray 3 - 5 feet from garden beds. Now this has me concerned so I called Natria and I stated all of the above and asked what they recommended. The representative that answered my call said that I should not grow anything in these beds for the next 12 months. What!?!?

My question is should I just throw in the towel and pull everything out of the garden that I've grown so far? I was so upset that I didn't think to ask her why I needed to wait 12 months. Is it because the plants may not grow well if this product gets washed into my beds or is it more serious in that the toxins could be leached into the plant and then the vegetable?

I've put so much time and money into this garden and it's killing me to think it was all for nothing. Any advice?
