I know this is likely a common one around our area, Seems to grow easy enough and I suspect in the long run this might spread more aggressively, but wanted to make sure anyways.Grouping this came from had yellow pedals with the color orange in around the center of flower, Would this be a Day Lily & or Ditch lily?

Ditch lilies are Day lilies.

The term "ditch lily " is used for the common daylily that you see growing "wild" in so many areas, very often in ditches, hence the name.
What I'm seeing in your pic suggests that, indeed, it is a ditch lily. I would advise not planting them, or at least, confining them to their own bed. They are extremely aggressive, and if mixed in with other daylily cultivars, will crowd them out. This has happened to me. I started digging mine out last year. I'll be digging more of them this year.

Thanks Garden Fish, Then my gut feeling was right about this lily, I have 3 in my main plant bed, I'll be moving them to my octagon plant bed seen here, where this other day lily is. This morning, bud on this one was just starting crack open, approx. 2 - 2 1/2 hrs later, It's fully open now. Here's pic.

You're welcome! They are pretty, and if you keep them to themselves they can make a dramatic statement in a garden bed. At the last house I lived in I had them in their own bed. Mine were the doubles.

I have at least 20 more with same type of stems like those ditch lily's above that I had posted. Except their suppose to be yellow, Someone gave me those and their planted further on down the side of our slope behind our house, Along a line of rocks, Those can grow all they want down there & I should start planting ditch lily's along the lower side of those rocks bc water run off is causing erosion. Again. They can grow and take over everything down there for all I care

That's an excellent place for them. And they are sometimes planted here for that very reason. I gave the ones I dug out to a friend to cover a steep, rocky hillside that was basically barren. She couldn't get anything to grow there, but these lilies did.

Glad I finally got back here to these post, I'm glad to know that GF, Ironically TODAY I had done some yard work for regular person I do work for every once in while. They have two thick patch's near their house and blooming right now as they were exactly the same Day lily's I posted here. I never saw or remembered seeing them bloom before & I had realized, this was a great idea for that slope in our back yard & now you have confirmed that for me, ( All in the same day ) With planting these on our hill side, I don't see how I could go wrong now with our erosion problem, on that one ridge slope.

Thanks You all, Any suggestion on where to post my flowering pic's as they start to bloom this yr. Had found Avedon June 2020 Bloom but mine might also be blooming in July. Here's a new one that just open up. It came off of cluster of dark burg. red with off color white on every other pedal and some white erratic lines, Where I found this one, there was also an healthy cluster of yellows near by so it must have cross pollinated with that yeller, On Pic, below, The bottom pedal has two tiny white lines. 1/4 '' or less long. One on each side of pedal. The coloring on the flowers off that cluster this came from was outstandingly beautiful but this one, Not nearly as much but I'm happy regardless that I do have another variety of, red color mix

Post the photos in the month they are blooming. There will be a new thread for July, August, etc.
