Hi everyone,
Nothing special here, just 3 Adeniums that I found at Home Depot. The one on the left reminds me of the oleanders that I have and hate, yea I know they are related. It has an interesting caudex was what caught my eye. I like the leaves on the other two better.
This is all new to me, I have much to learn.

Here is the first of many questions I'm sure. Should these plants be repotted into new pots and what sort of watering schedule should I consider? I picked up a few 8" clay azalea pots, but those will dry out very quickly here during the summers. The temperature in Phoenix will range from 100° to 115° during the summer with maybe an inch of rain. I have read to treat like a tropical in the summer, but I don't want to over do it with water. I am not sure where these came from. A greenhouse in southern California is a good bet, so I am giving these plants morning sun and afternoon shade to help acclimate them to this environment.
Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nice looking plants .... have to admit, I am surprised they came from a Big Box Store ...

8" clay azalea pots are fine ... and while it is true that terra-cotta pots do dry out ...that is exactly what these plants like ....what they do not like, is "wet feet" - ever !

I have 100° days here .... the solution is to step up watering ... to every 3 or so days, instead of say once every 5-7 days

These plants thrive under direct sun and hot conditions .... but in pots, they benefit from extra watering... as well as frequent fertilizing ...

Poor Drainage is often what kills these plants ..... potting media must be gritty, chunky - and free draining

Nice finds! I ordered mine because I couldn't find a single non-grafted adenium anywhere I looked.

I haven't had my adeniums for long, but there is a woman named Maria in Punta Gorda who seems to know what she's saying and she suggested slow release pellets. I've been using slow release fertilizer spikes and my two seem to be happy so far.

Transplant when it's done blooming.

Only transplant into One size larger than current pot size

. the caudex needs to be two fingers from the sides of the pot

The bottom of the caudex plant should be 1" to 1and1/2 "Deep
Trim off excess roots.

Plant in pot with good drainage holes . Water should run out of pot in less that a minute.

70% mini pine bark Nuggets to 30% potting soil
Add 1/8 cup Epsom salts
Mix well And press Soil tightly into Pot

Add time release fertilizer per instruction per
size of pot.
