I just scored this HUGE Kuching Mask for $24. The girl in the photo is 5'6. This is one helluva plant for that price. The base is the diameter of my calf. It is totally under-potted in a 3 gallon container and won't stand up without being propped because it is so heavy. each leaf is over 2 ft long. I was going to repot it immediately into a 10 or 15 gallon but it started raining cats and dogs so that will have to wait

Its a MONSTER. They also have a HUGE ALocasia Dark Star I am contemplating getting. But I will have to probably winter in the greenhouse to avoid them going dormant and both are so huge.....

I like the rain. I wish we would get some! I've had to water my tomato plants every day. I'm still not expecting much. We usually get a tomato or two a year Hilarious! but my kids like starting them from seeds.

Why are you going to put your mask in a pot and not directly into the ground? Just wondering if there's a specific reason.

ALocasias here are more finicky in winter than Colocasia and Xanthosoma. Sometimes they will go dormant and the next spring not come out until very late and you basically lose all the big growth you had. I have some plain green macrorhizza and odora scattered around the yard that come back year after year, but anything I consider species like the variegated ones, Regal Shields etc I let freeload in the greenhouse
