All About Aloe

My mother had a plethora of houseplants. They held no interest for me when I was growing up. I much preferred climbing the mountains with Aunt Bett, gathering wildflowers and herbs and learning of the magic they held. To a little tomboy, houseplants were nothing but boring, except for the one that I was told to never touch, Aloe vera.

Good morning all my fellow plant nerds.

I have exciting news. I have had thus aloe from a baby shoot off of my mother Aloe that got stolen years ago. She had hers for about 10 years before it went missing.

Well just 2 weeks ago I seperated it and repotted it. I now have two big mamas and a pot with all the babies I could salvage.

Now I was watering with mom last night and moving plants around and my aloe has a Flower Stalk emerging!!!!! How amazing. I have had this aloe about 5 years in the same container and she is soooo happy now. Even though she decided she wants to lean all the over....lol

Here is the offspring thats practically a full grown plant. When i separated them i loosened up all the soil from around the roots and im really happy with all of it.
