Does anybody recognize this iris? It is a vigorous midseason bloomer. It has reproduced well, even in the hot, unseasonably wet weather we've had the last couple of years. My tablet doesn't do them justice as far as the color which is a richer more cinnamon toast brown, like the standards.

Hi Bea,
I can't help you much, but others here might be able to give suggestions. It would be helpful to know other details, such as height, and whether it has purple-based foliage.

Thanks. I'd not heard of using the foliage colors for identification. I'll have to wait till it stops raining again to check.

As for height, I would guess that it is a Border Bearded or an Intermediate Bearded because the stalks are about 26 inches tall. The stalks stand just a bit taller than IB Honey Glazed, but it is not as tall as your typical TB. Like a BB the blossoms are large on sturdy stems.

However, I've been told that height isn't a good clue for identification, as it is affected by too many conditions. Honey Glazed is supposed to be 24 inches tall, but mine never is.

It's an amazing looking Iris, whatever it is Bea. And agree about the height. Mine do not always grow true to Class.
