I wondered about this too for a moment, but thought as Doris says, wait until one
receives the plants. It is hard to know what the protocol is for new groups.

My experience with Mark (Abundantdaylilies) has been that I have to go in later and check the "Paid" boxes because he doesn't seem to keep up with that. I wait until I do my feedback after I receive the daylilies, though.

I won 4 of his auctions and sent checks the next day, but haven't gotten any feedback yet. The dls are to be shipped next Spring.

I won 4 also and just won three more. I got an email letting me know he got the money but he did not mark me paid or leave feedback. Nothing. This was the end of October I won these. Still nothing. I might email him, but Mike144mann is the same way. He said he does not usually leave feedback or mark anyone paid till spring. Seems that the man works full time and takes his vacation in the spring and does all the shipping then. He did mark mine because I emailed him that I was new and had nothing. So he gave me some feedback. Sweet. Thumbs up

I've been checking my boxes as soon as I pay them or mail the check. It helps me remember who I have paid. I will leave them all feedback as I receive the daylilies. Green Grin!

This is what I do when I receive daylilies in the mail. Either I use the invoice that comes in the box or I use a blank sheet of paper (this year I kept a spiral bound notebook for this purpose) and write down the names of the daylilies that we receive and the date. I write down the number of fans received, the size of the fans and roots, the names of bonus/gifts sent, and any general comments, such as very pleased, will order again, daylily on the small size, don't order from seller again, comment on packaging, etc. Then I use this information when I post feedback. At the time that I post feedback, I can view each win and see how many fans that we won and compare it to how many we received, etc. Then I keep that sheet of recorded information and file it in a folder by year. Sometimes I want to go back and find out who we got a certain daylily from if it is the wrong cultivar or just want to know who we got certain daylilies from. I try to post feedback within 24 hours of the time that we receive daylilies, or else I email the seller to let them know that we received the daylilies.

By my computer I also keep a running list of daylilies (pages stapled or gemclipped together) that we buy from a hybridizer or seller or "win" from the Lily Auction. I record the name of the seller, the price of the daylily, # fans, sometimes make notations of ploidy, scape height, bloom size, shipping costs, how I paid (check, PayPal), and when the daylily will be shipped. I can refer to this list quickly when I cannot remember if we have a certain daylily coming or if I am still searching for it. When the daylilies start coming in the spring or fall, I check off each seller when those daylilies arrive. That way I always know whose are yet to come. Once all have been received, I file these lists in the same folder as the notes from above. Like Teresa, I always try to pay for the daylilies the next day or else I am liable to forget. I do log Payment Made on the Lily Auction as a backup. A few times I have failed to mail the check the next day and found a few days later that I had not made the payment.

I am also adding that I use the running list of daylilies mentioned above that we purchased by season (winter/spring for spring shipment or summer/fall for fall shipment) and I keep by my computer until filed away as my resource list for periodically adding new daylily acquisitions to our daylily database in the computer. I need to add the latest acquisitions to our database.

Some don't leave feedback until they ship the daylilies. Before Mike added the new features for shipping dates and such to the invoice pages some would leave feedback and say these shipped on such and such date. Sometimes when they are marked paid if a person happens to backspace the page instead of clicking the go to all sold page again it flips the paid back to unpaid or the shipped back to pending (or whatever reason it would flip it back) so it was easier to just leave it in the feedback that it was shipped.

Mark uses another way to keep track of his invoices and what's paid and such so he probably doesn't go back and mark things paid often on the auction and he may do like has been said, wait until he has time to leave lots of feedback at once. I've had others last year that did that and I had wondered about it and that's what they told me, they wait until after all auctions are done and paid and leave feedback all at once.

I have been keeping folders like Doris, but need to add comments about orders
like that for feedback. Before using the Lily Auction, I ordered directly from
hybridizers, so did not think about comments regarding feedback.

Michele, gotta go look for the new features for shipping dates on the invoice page.
I evidently overlooked that feature.

Okay, I see, the shipping date shows up when seller notes that he/she ships it. The Lily
Auction is really good for keeping up with things, and we can print out for confirmation.
The seller/buyer input the info, and the auction site shows all. Hmmm, I'm impressed.

Shirlee, On the invoice page that the seller sees (it's a little different than what the buyer sees) we have a place to put shipped date or scheduled shipping date and then there's a box for notes, message to buyer, confirmation #, or whatever and then we can send it to the buyer with this info. I'll do this sometimes if someone gives me a specific shipping date as a reminder to myself when to ship and also it sends the note to the buyer which lets them know I marked that date down.

I did have a list of daylilies and hosta's, but now I note things on ATP database as far a what I have and what I am thinking about buying in the future. I always look everything up on the database anyway and a couple of times I found that I already had bought the daylily. Knock me over with a feather, I am having too many geezer moments!. Blinking
Other times I look through my pictures to see who sent what and how the fans looked. I recently discovered I did not note the bonuses that Blueridge sent last summer, seven daylilies and did not know what they were, he does not list the bonuses on the packing slip like Marriott's, etc. I actually went to my pictures and was able to read the tags. Pictures are a wonderful tool also.
And, if someone has something on my want list they might email me and make an offer or suggest a trade. I like that too!.. Green Grin!

Thanks everyone for all the comments. Never hurts to know these things
before using them. At some point, I'm hoping to sell on the LA, and all the
comments are so useful.
