This Purple Cherokee Heirloom started off as a large transplant from Home Depot. I don't know the size, maybe 2.5 gallon? Either way it's the largest starter tomato plant they sell, retail around $18. It went into one of my raised beds on 6/03. It was in pretty good health. It had some leaf curl but it was over 90° the day of purchase and no pests or diseases were visible.
This plant has always had an issue with leaf curl even after going into a very healthy raised bed. I came to the conclusion it just stresses easily. I'm hoping I did not miss some type of disease that is just now showing itself.
I last inspected and watered the plant 5 days ago and it looked normal although I did not uncurl as many leaves as usual since leaf curl has gotten to be such a normal thing with this plant. We had light-ish rain 2 times since then.
Last night I was staking up and spraying diluted H2o2 spray on some cucumber and melon plants that grew like crazy over the weekend when I noticed this.
Retook same pic in daylight
The top part of the plant appears pretty healthy but the sick leaves are close to healthy ones. Don't know if this is something that is just going to work its way up the plant or what? You can see how close the healthy leaves are to the ones with this issue in this picture..
This sick better bush plant was in the same bed 3-4 ft away until I pulled it a few days ago. (Returned for full refund instead of trying to nurse it back to health.)
I can easily take additional pics or provide any other details to help figure out what's going on with this purple Cherokee plant. I have several family members hoping to get a few of these tomatoes
