Companion Plants for the Hosta Garden

Hostas come in a great variety of colors, sizes, forms, and textures. A shady bed featuring only a number of well-chosen Hosta cultivars can provide great visual interest, but the addition of some companion plants can add to the overall beauty and diversity.

Here is another idea for a hosta companion plant. Yellow Archangel (Lamium galeobdolon 'Hermann's Pride'). Here is a picture of it in my garden.

Herman's Pride is a very controllable plant, it does not spread by underground stolons like this variety. Golden Dead Nettle (Lamium galeobdolon 'Variegatum')
