Looking for Magic: Thyme

By Sharon
October 29, 2012

Aunt Bett always said, "Look for the magic that hides in plants, look real close and you'll find it." I needed a little magic in my life and I think I've found what I need in spices. Along with a few others, thyme is one that is ripe with nutrition. Let's check it out.

I have some lemon thyme and I love to rub my hands on it to get the fresh scent. Sorry to say I have never tried it in a dish, but will do some research now to see what else I can put it in. I learn so much reading your articles. Thanks, Sharon.

I cook with the lemon thyme whenever i make pork roast. Rosemary, too. Grow all my herbs mostly because I like them, they smell great when you rub them or waterhose them Hilarious! , and the bees like them. Maybe over the winter I will experiment with soaps and such.

I love thyme--both as an ornamental plant, as well as an herb in cooking. Hadn't thought much about the medicinal purposes, so this is great information.
Thanks, Sharon.
