Thread OP

Hi, I have a mature king palm in southern California that has deformed terminal fronds. I am trying to diagnose the cause, and treat it. Please help! Thank you.

Welcome!

Your palm shows symptoms of Boron deficiency. This is a problem in soils with a high pH or actual deficiency in the soil. In SoCal it usually is a pH issue. You can lower the pH some by adding sulfur or using a urea based nitrogen fertilizer.
