Hello! How is everyone doing today?
I've had this Kalanchoe Sexangularis (unsure if it is the correct identification), for about 4 years now. A month afterwards it became infested with aphids and I've never had a bug issue since (the succulent is indoors). When I first purchased my Kalanchoe, it looked similarly to how it does now. They did become damaged overtime, hence the lack of leaves towards the bottom, it was knocked it over at least 6 times in the first year I owned it. The pot looked empty due to the damage, so I purchased additional Kalanchoes a year later to fill in the space but they looked different -- the leaves looked folded in half, a very defined crease and were extremely shiny, they almost looked and felt like plastic. The succulent has never bloomed. The colors of red, orange, and green have been prominent no matter the season, the only change the plant had was leaf curling downwards, and new leaves growing.
Now the second set of Kalanchoes look like the ones I purchased initially. They also appear powdery, much like the first set. (first set is super tall 4 years old, second set is much shorter, 3 years old). Are the leaves curling downwards due to a lighting or watering issue, and is the powdery substance perhaps just dust and dried water from when rain gets through the window? The new leaves are also following suit and are growing curled downwards and slightly powdery/matte to the touch. Or is all of this normal for this species and the second set was purchased in a stressed state?
The first picture is what the leaves looked like originally. Thank you everyone for your help!
