This daylily may be the closest I've seen to "Corvette red" (GM paint code "Torch Red").

Red Hill (Reed, 2004) height 42 in.(107 cm), bloom 6 in.(15 cm), season La, Dormant, Diploid, 25 buds, 3 branches, Red self. (Ballet Russe × unknown)

Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Red Hill')

Vigorous clump former, starts late July in my Eastern PA garden. Has a week or two left. Strong scapes, about 40 inches here.

Great choice for a late red.

Finding it is a challenge. Woodhenge lists as sold out. Partridge Hill Gardens might have some.

Red Hill deserves greater attention.

Of about 40 reds in my garden, this is my favorite.

Call Margo at Woodhenge, sometimes her listings run a bit behind. Sometimes she 'finds' what you are looking for because she is such a nice person.

Funny Margo story; I was emailing with her about a purchase (it was sold out, no promises but it doesn't hurt to ask. She sent it to me) and I sent her two photos; JUST JESSIE and DANCES WITH GIRAFFES.

They were both good photos and she emailed back that she really liked them, were they my seedlings? I answered that they were hers and I named them and she replied "No wonder I liked them!"

Cool story, Charley! Rolling on the floor laughing

Red Hill is a beauty of a red and sounds like a keeper!
