I bought a plumeria labeled Aztec Gold at a local garden center. The flowers look like Aztec Gold but they have no fragrance. Is this possible or is the plant mislabeled? Is there a cultivar that looks like Aztec Gold but has no fragrance?

My Aztec Gold has a very strong peach scent, not sure why yours has no scent. I have a Noid plant that the flowers have no scent. Can you include a picture of your flowers.

Wow, that's a tough one. It looks like an Aztec Gold. Mine are more yellow but do fade to partial white after 5 days or so. A very healthy plant. What part of San Diego are you in. I'm in Bonita.

Do your flowers start out solid yellow and then fade to white.

I'm not sure. There's 2 buds starting to open now. I'll let you know once they do.

Cool, this is what mine look like when they open, then gradually turn white on the outer flower.

I'm stumped, mine has a very strong fragrance. It sure looks like an Aztec Gold. Very healthy plant.😎

Vince, have you had other people smell your blooms? Could you have lost your sense of smell? It can be a Covid symptom!

Karen, I did have someone else smell them and they couldn't smell anything either. Happily I can smell other scents so no Covid here. Smiling

Tim, I think I just got a dud plant or maybe it's a seedling from an Aztec Gold.

Hello Vince, I think my comment is late by now and I have not grown Atec Gold, but I can tell you that I have been growing two Celedine plumerias in large pots for almost 20 years. We keep them just outside our sliding door and we have loved the fragrance that would fill our family room every summer when the sliding door was open or just walking into the plumeria perfume when we would step out into our small garden. This summer, nothing. We had many blossoms this year and we could smell the flowers up close, but not as strong as previous years. What ever nutrient(s) that give plumerias their amazing scent must be exhausted in our pots after so many years. I wish I knew the answer. I don't know if it was just a fluke this year, but I won't know til next year. Sorry I can't answer your question, but don't give up hope. I will not. I am open to suggestions and I will try some things, but I truly will not know til next year.
