If you haven't already, now is the time to put away your motorized gardening equipment. Drain the gas and the oil, repair and replace any parts that need maintenance including filters and spark plugs, clean the dirt and grime away, cover and store it for the season.

This is a very important tip. Unless one wants to start the new season with
equipment that won't "start" which we have learned the hard way.

The whole idea of winterizing seems foreign at the moment since it is 103, but better than draining the gas is to run the motor until it runs out of gas. Then it is truly empty.
