My home garden picture of the rose 'Chicago Peace'. I'm lucky to live where roses love to grow! What's your favorite rose?
Happy Gardening!

Any rose that lives and blooms here. Easier said than done. And gets some size to it. Only one rose here right now is at least 3 feet or more. Sighing!

Thank you for sending the beautiful flower pictures and sharing your garden delights. So sorry to hear about the rose rosette disease. Hopefully it will pass quickly and the roses will bloom again. Another one of my favorites is the 'Scentimental' rose, great colors and bloomer. So many variations on one plant.

I just received and planted two Scentimental roses from Heirloom. They're healthy little plants. I've given them a place of prominence in the garden. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do in the Spring. David

David, I grow three of them. If your experience is like mine, the blooms only last a short time before the petals let go, but the plants make up for it by reblooming quickly.

My favorite is Easy Spirit. And Second favorite is Canyon Road. All roses took a break except these two. They even outdid the Knock Out. And they are just second year. I have many more very good roses like Kordes - Wedding Bells, Beverly, Savannah, Weeks - Julia Child, Living Easy, Grande Dame. But these two are something this year. Lovey dubby

I looked up Easy Spirit and it's a beautiful rose! It's definitely a color that I would like to add to my yard. Smiling The two top performers you mentioned must have been prolific! Was it the weather and/or fertilizer? Thank you for sharing the information and by any chance does Cisco still have his gardening show on King 5? Knock Out is a wonderful performer in my garden, it makes a nice hedge and backdrop. The long shot was taken May2020, there are 32 roses, half (16) are Double Knock Out and the other half (16) were planted 10 years prior and I can't remember the name. I love both growth habits, as they're very different from each other. Yes, I do my own gardening and so far, so good. Smiling
Happy Gardening! Send pictures!

I forgot to mention that those roses got no care at all. No spraying, no fertilizer, no deadheading. Just lots of plain water! Clean, vigorous, non stop flowers. May be the weather. May be my soil is good as it is (we have clay). I did add some manure to the planting hole. But I did the same with other roses and they're good but a bit less flower power. Another roses I want to mention is Easy on the eyes. Good, clean, vigorous but flowers do not stay long on the bush and it took a break for a month. It is on the last on the right.

The soil does make a difference in growing a healthy plant. Organic methods are my preference as well.

"Chicago peace" is wonderful. It is quite dificult to state wich is our favourite rose. Every year I produce, by hybridization, about 50 new roses each year. Among them there is aIlways one or two that become the most recent favourite. In the year 2020 I have obtain other of my favourites. I named it "Subtle nuance" and it has an intense fragrance to "stocks". Parentage: "Blue Moon" x "Jubilee celebration"

Does anyone have a recommendation for a very low growing floribunda red rose? I have a space that is begging for coverage in a floral way. Happy Gardening!
