Hi,

We have a cultivar called Marland Beauty (also sold buy some suppliers as Marland's Beauty) that I haven't been able to find any information on. Trying to figure out the provenance of this cultivar so any information on the plant would be appreciated.

The second cultivar is on I just saw on Ebay Australia and the cultivar is called Bloodshot.
Again any information about a cultivar in that name would be appreciated.

Serkan can you show us a photo of the two in question?

I'm betting Marland Beauty is Marland RUBY that somehow got mislabeled. I grow it here from plants sent by Howard Wills from the UK about 7 years ago. It's a decent red and quite hardy.

No clue on Bloodshot although it might be a red cultivar whose name was lost. Nurseries are good about inventing cultivars without names. Buyer beware! eBay sites are notorious!

Not only good at inventing cultivars, but you can be sent the wrong ones, basically what they believe the cultivar is named (but it is not), it happened to me at least a couple of times, where what was sent had nothing to do with the cultivar name.
Contacted sellers, told them, they said that is how they do it for years as no one complained.

That is why I wanted to see photos, the 'Bloodshot' one could be a bad translation from a German name.

I see where you are going Lynn, "Blaues Blut" as in Blue Blood or something along those lines.
It does not seem that one, I guess.

Marland Beauty is a cultivar that's quite commonly available in Australia. I have seen at least 3-4 succulent nurseries sell it.
Here is a great photo from Let Love Grow Online Nursery which is one of the great online sources for buying Sempervivums in Australia.

It shows all the seasonal changes of the cultivar. This is one of the reasons why I like this seller. They are very good about this sort of stuff.
I would imagine this cultivar has been around for at least 5plus years.

Bloodshot on the other hand I never heard of before. Here is a screenshot of the Ebay listing

Normally I would have bought it just to see it in the flesh as it were but currently the seller did not have other plants I was interested in so I didn't want to pay postage for a single plant.

And thank you @PaleoTemp for putting the link up earlier

I agree with Kevin, it very well could be an incorrect name for 'Marland Ruby'. Maybe you can contact the nursery and ask for information on the origin for you beautiful semp?
Here is for comparison http://sempervivum-liste.de/Se...

Who is the seller for the Bloodshot?

Thank you.

Bloodshot was sold by a seller I don't know. Can't really tell if it is a nursery or a hobby seller.
